Project Summary
Hotel BaiSe initiated a modernization process for their hotel which serves many time for the municipal government of BaiSe. The hotel itself locates in the downtown area of BaiSe. This project aims for a total adjustment for the entire layout of the hotel, while keeping two existing buildings No.7 and No.8. In the new master plan, most of the original ecological environment is protected including the landmark banyan tree, and by making full use of the height difference in the site, the new plan is able to create more commercial environment at the street front.
The Five-Star new hotel tower is 64.4m in height and has a setback of 25m from the main street. Leading by the tower, a serious of new functions such as commercial catering, conference, banquet hall, fitness center, conference center and the original 7 / 8 Building are all arranged in a way that surrounds and forming a signature garden in the center of the new compound, and also acting a piece of green for the city. Staff apartments and dormitory building are put in the northwest corner so as to form a living quarter which would not disturb the hotel compound.
Design for the façade of the hotel itself as well as the podium is inspired by the local ethnic arts and crafts - Zhuang minority people’s brocading art. A modern printed glass façade together with cantilevered functional boxes together forms an auspicious traditional Chinese symbol: the cloud, which carries booming and potentials ideas for the hotel development.
