Project Summary
In context of BASF’s 150 year celebration held in Shanghai in 2015, the LEED Platinum R&D Campus I building was to receive a renovation of the currently damaged facade.
After assessing complexity, financial investment and timeline for
- complete renovation / exchange of facade system, incl. insulation, waterproofing and finishes
- renovation of current damages and repaint
- repaint only
the repaint only option was chosen and more in-depth renovation postponed. For the repainting work, no changes to the facade material were desired.
The project looked at different alternatives, all with the premise to utilize this facade renovation in order to integrate the existing R&D Campus I better with the new facade of R&D Campus II in order for both buildings to form an R&D ensemble within the eclectic mix of campus buildings surrounding them.
