Project Summary
 
DSSH - the Shanghai German School on Hongqiao Euro-Campus - is a world leading institution in German education offering all education paths from crip groups and Kindergarten to  high school "Abitur".
 
Built around 2005, the secondary school's teacher's area was meant to be refurbished. SoftGrid developed an integrated interior concept to create a blend of calm and focus elements, corresponding closely to how the room is actually used. To identify key functional and ambient elements, users and management were closely involved in the design process from the start.
 
The entire project was designed and realized in roughly 2.5 months, offering:
ergonomically optimized individual desks 
privacy planting as a guiding design and wellbeing element
an open library zone offering an informal rest and meeting space
storage now included with each work space (not centralized as before)
wall and ceiling paints designed to de-stress and avoid tiredness of eyes
green accent color and warm floor finishes / lighting creating a relaxed but focused ambient
lighting divided into zones for energy reduction
