Project Summary
The company’s own new R&D Headquarter is situated within a larger river-side master plan. Vibrant urban surroundings and the lush green waterfront inspired a hybrid design negotiating city and nature, extrovert and introvert spaces, focus and contemplation.
All 8 floors feature maximized daylights and views while a hybrid green screen and BiPV façade with prominent exterior decks lends a very distinct, highly recognizable identity to the entire development.
Optimized via passive design strategies, the façade acts as a panoramic, self-shading, synergistic envelope inciting a sense of connectedness to nature wherever you are within the building. Exterior spaces not only provide natural areas, but also opportunities for informal social use, creating a versatile interior / exterior work environment.
Surrounded by natural light and plants, combined with proven healthy and low emission materials, optimized task lighting, user control and exceptional thermal comfort all year round, the new R&D Headquarter sets highest standards for health and wellbeing.
The project is not only meant as a showcase, but understood as a true blueprint for future replicability.
